A Letter from The Universe

The UniverseHere we all are, trying to make a life, or perhaps a living. Wanting to create something, do a good thing, do better in life, make things happen, leave a legacy, achieve, accomplish, win, make happen. Work hard to pay bills, start a business, save for a vacation, survive and heal a dark moment (short or long), or finish a degree. With a lot of effort and, oftentimes, with a lot of beautiful and inspiring results. Though, quite often, many of these actions, intentions, and outcomes do come from a place of will. Of ego. Of course, also from a place of heart and passion and the quiet whispers of our soul.

What if there was another way, of less ego, less head, and less focused on listening to the internal voice that keeps driving and pushing us? What if, instead, we shifted to a different way – a way of listening? For instance, what if you were to receive a letter from The Universe (or your personal favourite Divine Guidance Authority), directly and personally to you? What would the letter say?

Given my last few months (yes, I am a slow learner and it took me a while to really see that this is what’s been happening since the beginning of the year), I think this would have been the letter addressed to me.

For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn’t understand growth, it would look like complete destruction. – Cynthia Occelli

Dear Simon,

Thank you. Thank you for finally beginning to listen. Truly listen. You know, it can be really hard, even for the almighty me, to keep speaking when nobody is really listening. Good thing I am patient and have plenty of time, even though I don’t relate to “time” in quite the same way you do.

It has come to my attention (though it actually has been on my attention for much longer than you can imagine) that you are beginning to see the signs, connect the dots, and actually listen. It makes me happy it is finally happening, because you are so set in your own ways. See, when you truly start listening to me, it will make your life easier. Mind you, not easy, but easier. The truth will eventually set you free (as in, liberate you from whatever mental and emotional chains you are still carrying within you – and I have no idea how do you manage to go through the day with such a weight), but first it will really piss you off. You know, just like what you tell your students and clients.

You, my dear human, are finally ready. I know you oftentimes think that you have done your work, spent a lot of time in those inquiries of who and what and why you are, and are not, and what is blocking you from shining, and what your gifts are, and why you are here. All worthy. All important. All have created many beautiful, and rich, and dark, and painful, and magical moments and experiences. Good for you. Really. I mean it.

Now it is time to leave all these moments and memories behind, because you have integrated them rather well, and grown towards the next phase. Take a deep breath, as I am sure you already suspect from these past few months, we are about to move into a whole different eye of the storm.

You think you know yourself? Let it go.
You think you know what your deep wounds have been along the path? Drop it.
You think you know what you are capable of enduring? Wanna bet?
You think you can keep going through life on your own, without asking for help and support? Have you not learned anything?
You think you can go through life on your own terms in the way you want? C’mon…
You think you have experienced deep pain? Sorry.
You think you know and understand what it means to live with an open heart? Think again.
You think you know what real trust means? Ha!
You think you have dealt with, and healed, your past with your parents? Oy vey.
You think you know what it feels like to be vulnerable? Fasten your seat belt please.
You think you know why you are here? Oh, boy – just wait.
You think you know what love is? You ain’t seen and felt nothing yet.

One of the greatest mysteries of our current state of consciousness is how we can live in a world where absolutely nothing is fixed, yet perceive a world of “fixedness.” But once we start to see reality more as it is, we realize that nothing is permanent, so how could the future be fixed? How could we live in anything but a world of continual possibility?

And know, that throughout it all, this phase and the next and the one after, you will be fine. Really. You CAN trust me. After all, this is my plan and I know you better than you think, and better than you ever will. It is a beautiful, amazing, magical, and very loving plan that I have for you. It is just not that easy. However, it will be a bit easier for you if you trust me.

I love you. I always have. I always will. Trust that too.
The Universe
